Below are some descriptions of the various types of Fair Folk we have met. You will find lots more info about Faeries and other topics in the list of Pages over to the right.
Elves: The Elves are a very tall and beautiful people. The average height of the men is 6 to 7 feet, while that of the women is around 6 feet. Their ears are pointed at the tips, and their eyes are slanted upwards. They are thousands of years old, but not as old as the Gnomes. They live in various kingdoms spread throughout the realms, but those we have contact with live in the same realm as the Red Cap Gnomes. - Gnomes, Red Cap: They stand about 3 to 3-1/2 feet tall. Their ears are pointed with the tips at a slight downward descent, while their eyes are slanted upwards. Many of the men have beards. The more traditional Gnomes often wear red caps. They are all very beautiful. They each choose at what age they wish to represent themselves. Some appear very youthful while others may take on the aspect of a more mature person with white hair and white beard. They live to be thousands of years old. They are filled with great spiritual wisdom and unlimited love and compassion. They were one of the first of the tribes of Fair Folk to leave the physical realm to travel to the distant realms closer to the Mother and Father Creator, and they now live in the realm nearest to the Holy Parents referred to as Tir Na n’Og. - Gnomes, Green Cap: Their appearance is the same as the Red Caps, except for their Green Caps, which denote their tribe. They also live to be thousands of years old. They are the caretakers of the nature kingdom, and they live in a realm close to the physical earth which places them on the front lines between humanity and Mother Earth. They endure much emotional pain from the devastation of the Great Mother by humans. Click here for more details.
- Sprites: They are beautiful, small, winged beings, who stand 10 to 12 inches tall. Their wings are shaped much like butterfly wings, usually transparent, but reflecting many colors, though they can change their wings’ colors or appearance at will. They seldom wear clothes, but do so on occasion so as not to offend those of a more prudish nature. They are very playful, but also very ancient and filled with spiritual wisdom. - Stocking Scarf Sprites: These Sprites were born quite recently. They are beautiful or handsome and look like adult Sprites, but they are still very young and innocent. They are sweet, impetuous, extremely intelligent, and can think of many ways to get into mischief. They are also very good at time travel. They are usually unclothed except for stockings and scarves, which they wear to differentiate themselves from the much older and more mature Sprites.
- Blinks: Blinks are usually 4 to 8 inches tall and are similar in appearance to Brownies. Blinks and Brees are almost the same people, except Blinks feel they have a sacred calling, a holy mission, a massive Blink rescue mission. Someday soon, the Blinks feel they will be called upon by the Creator to liberate all of the spirits trapped inside our machines. Please understand that, to a Blink, a machine is not just a collection of metal, plastic, wire, computer chips, and batteries. A machine is not merely an inanimate object created to do our will. No, to a Blink, a machine is a living being, a poor creature trapped within a machine shell that, sometime during its servitude to its human owners, must be liberated, set free, so that it can become the glorious creature it truly is. A Blink can look inside a machine and see perhaps a trapped bird, a small mouse, a hobbled horse, or many other creatures. Inside each machine, there is a Faerie animal just crying to be set free. Even inside my laptop, there is a poor animal just waiting to escape with a Blink’s help. You may think to yourself, what a noble thing the Blinks are doing, and it is, but please understand that, when a Blink sets a creature free from its machine-like prison cell, the body of the machine itself dies, ceases to function. It would be like your toaster stops toasting and itself becomes toast. Your computer crashes and cannot be brought back to life by the most gifted computer geek. Your faithful car breaks down, and no matter what miracles the mechanic tries to perform over it, your car will never ride the road again. You may ask yourself then, if this is true, then why are not the Blinks shutting down machines worldwide, all at once, this very minute? It is pure mercy on their part. The Blinks realize that we humans are too dependent on our machines, so a machine is liberated here and there, now and then, and our human world goes on, or does it? Each loss of a machine changes our life a little bit, so consider this a Blink warning. We must learn more and more to do less and less with our machines. As I type this section, I am sending warm and grateful thoughts to my laptop, while hoping there are no Blinks nearby waiting to suddenly set it free. The Blinks tell us that someday the Creator will give them the call, and then Blinks all over the world will en masse set all the machines free, whether we humans are ready or not. Personally, I hope we have years left before that happens, but, just in case, I will type a little faster, and keep looking over my shoulder, hoping that the Blink rescue mission does not happen today.
- Brees: Brees are usually 4 to 6 inches tall, about the size of dolls usually found in dollhouses. In appearance, they are similar to Brownies or very attractive humans. Both Bree men and women braid their hair into complex braids with flowers, feathers and small stones. The few male Brees with beards may also braid them with items from nature. Like most Faerie Folke, Bree eyes are almond-shaped with an upward tilt. Their pointed tipped ears are slightly longer then a human’s. Most Brees live hidden within nature, deep within a grassy or forest covered hillside, beside a lake or a stream, along a rocky cliff, or in many other locations in nature. There are even a few Brees who live in a human flower garden, but these Brees are considered to be very brave. House-dwelling Brees were more common over a hundred years ago. Like their garden-dwelling kin, these brave Brees lived in attics, basements, cellars, and even within the walls of human homes. Today, very few Brees would even consider living so close to humans; that is, unless they are the Blinks.
- Brownies: They are lovely, spiritual beings of about 10 to 12 inches in height. They sometimes wear clothes, especially around humans. When they do, the female Brownies wear tops that are flattering, but not particularly lowcut. Their skirts are flowing so they have freedom of movement. They often don’t wear shoes, as they want to feel the Earth beneath their feet, but if they do wear shoes, they are lightweight so they can feel the Earth as much as possible. They sometimes wear cone-shaped hats made of soft materials which are rounded at the end. The hats rest on their head in a relaxed position, and you can see their hair flowing out from beneath the cap. Within their hair is always a braid, either in the back or the front, and within the braid they weave flowers or leaves or feathers or some other item from nature, depending on the area where they live and their particular focus in helping Mother Earth. Their clothes reflect the colors of the area where they live. Sometimes they may also wear vests. There is an upward point at the tips of their ears, which turn down just a bit at the ends. They always make sure never to cover their ears with their hair, as they are proud of their ears and consider them a point of beauty. Their eyes are almond-shaped with an upward slant, and their eyebrows are finely shaped and reflect the upward slant of their eyes. They have beautiful singing voices, and they always carry some sort of musical instrument, often a flute. They sometimes create drums or flutes from hollowed-out branches. They are fond of imitating sounds of nature in a musical way, and they do so often with their voices or instruments.
- Centaurs: True to their legend, the upper half of their torso is human with two arms, while the lower half is that of a powerful horse. Like the rest of the Faerie, they are very beautiful. The males and females both often go bare-chested, though they sometimes wear clothing, particularly on formal occasions.
- Devas: They are beings similar to angels who live in the realms near Earth. They oversee a particular area and try to protect it from destruction by humans. They help direct the Gnomes and others who also work to protect Mother Earth. When an area they protect is devastated, it is very painful for them, but they will stay there until the very end. Then they will return to the realms further from Earth for healing before returning to try to protect another area from the humans who would destroy the veryland upon which they walk.
- Dragons: Dragons come in many different forms, but one we have met is a red dragon with a head shaped similarly to a horse. He has round eyes and scales that look much like smooth skin. His ears go up and then tilt down at the ends. His neck is long like a horse’s neck, and his body somewhat resembles a horse. He has four fingers and a thumb on his front feet, which are longer than a human hand and have longer nails. His legs are muscular, and his back legs have six toes and claws. His long three-forked tail has webbing between the forks which acts like the tail of a kite. He has large wings with scales resembling feathers which can lay flat or be fluffed up like those of a bird. He likes to sit up in human fashion during conversations. He is extremely ancient and does, in fact, breathe fire.
- Dwarves: Similar in appearance to Gnomes, they are slightly taller at 4 to 4-1/2 feet. Though they can often be found dwelling below ground in caverns, they are also quite comfortable above ground.
- Fauns: Their upper portion is human, while their lower portion is that of a two-legged hoofed animal. They are, of course, beautiful. Horns of various sizes grow out of their heads, which unfortunately resulted in stories told by misguided priests who referred to them as horned devils. This is a lie, for they are as a rule very gentle and loving.
- Hobbits: Hobbits are similar in appearance to Gnomes, and (as Mr. Tolkien wrote) they do indeed have furry feet. They are generally 2-1/2 to 3 feet tall. Their homes are often at least partially underground.
- Hobs: In height, Hobs are the size of small children, about 2 to 3 feet tall. Their faces are like an upside down teardrop with the pointy end of the teardrop forming the chin. Hobs have large almond-shaped eyes with an upward tilt, giving their face a cat-like appearance. The facial features of some types of Hobs can appear to be delicate in contrast with the largeness of their eyes, but there are also other types of Hobs with what we humans would consider more pronounced facial features such as longer noses and chins. Hob hair may be very long and thickly braided, though I am told there are male Hobs who are bald by choice. Male Hob eyebrows can be thick and bushy. The female’s brows are also thick, but they keep them better groomed. Like a cat, a Hob’s long pointed ears stand upright. The very tips of their ears point downwards. Like a cat’s twitching ears, a Hob’s ears also twitch when listening to various sounds, as well as when they are deep in thought. A Hob’s hand is long and slender with thin long fingers. Likewise, a Hob’s foot is narrow with long toes. A Hob’s feet are very dexterous and good at picking up items from the ground, as well as being helpful for climbing trees or vertical rocky surfaces. In comparison, a human’s hands and feet are smaller and much less dexterous then a Hob’s hands and feet. Hob clothing varies according to their personal fashion tastes, but many Hobs often do not wear shoes, preferring shoeless freedom for their toes. A good many Hobs live underground under hills, though in the old days, quite a few Hobs lived in human barns, basements, cellars, and even in hearths and chimneys. With the coming of human machines and human disbelief and mistreatment, the house Hobs began moving back into the more secluded hills and forests of nature from which they originally came. Even today, there are a few Hobs who, unknown to their human housemates, can still be found living in basements and cellars. In fact, what people may assume to be ghosts rattling about their homes may, in fact, be a Hob or some other Faerie Folke who just wants to live in peace with their human housemates. Most Hobs and other types of house Faeries are usually friendly and can help protect the house from negative spirits and energies.
- Merfolk: As the legends portray them, their upper portion is like a human body, while their lower body is in the form of a fish with iridescent scales. Like most Fair Folk, they are very beautiful, and can turn their lower half to human form with little effort if they wish to leave the water and walk about on land.
- Mugwumps: Small brown furry beings with pointy ears and tails. They have their own language which is quite understandable in the land of Faerie.
- Salmon of Wisdom: They eat of the hazelnuts of wisdom which grow on the trees which hang over the wells where flow the waters of the Great Mother.
- Sprees: They are similar to Sprites, except smaller, standing 4 to 6 inches tall, and they also have wings.
- Tree-Snufflers: They are tall, gangly beings with long snouts who lick tree energy which the tree freely gives. In return, they give energy to the tree. They move slowly and have small hoof-like three-toed feet. Their bodies tend to take on the color of tree trunks. Their pelt is covered with fine hair, and on their shoulders and arms, they may take on the shape of leaves and the tree they have an affinity for. They might also have a mane of leaves. In the fall, they tend to mimic trees and shed the leaves which grow on their shoulders, back portions, head and along their limbs. They have 6 or 7 fingers on each hand. They are very versatile and strong.
- Unicorns: Like the legends, they are beautiful horses with a horn in the middle of their forehead. They converse with others of the Faerie, because in Tir Na n’Og there are no language barriers as there are on Earth.
- Winged Horses: They are horses with wings. Both they and the Unicorns participate as mounts for the Elves and Gnomes when they go to battle in the other realms.
- The Dark Faerie: The Dark Faerie are composed of many ugly and evil Goblins, Trolls, and Ogres who follow the Evil One himself. Some beautiful Dark Elves and other Faeries also follow the Evil One. Should you ever meet a Faerie being who says negative or cruel things or asks you to do negative things, this would be a likely hint that you have encountered a member of the Dark Faerie. The Dark Faerie are never welcome at our home, and we don’t encourage you to invite them to yours. Remember that anything they offer will be in their best interests, but not yours.
- Aliens: Faeries are not Aliens. Aliens were once part of the same family as Humans and Faeries. Humans left the Garden, but Aliens left both the Garden and the Earth. They first created talismans to concentrate power; then the talismans became machines; then the machines became ships; and they sailed away. Those who stayed behind are the indigenous peoples, including Native Americans and Faeries. After thousands of years, many Aliens forgot where they came from. Some began to abduct Humans and do experimentation and take tissue samples. There are books out there claiming that Humans made an agreement before they were born to allow the Aliens to experiment on them. This is not true – it is a lie told by the Aliens, so you won’t complain if you wake up on a ship and find a probe up your nose. If you are being experimented on by someone who looks like a popular musician or movie star, that is just an Alien who has temporarily changed the way they look to keep you from knowing who they are. If you wake up lying in something that looks like a dental chair or an operating table and someone in a lab coat is doing something you don’t care for, just start screaming and yelling for help as loud as you can. If you do that, you will probably find yourself back in your bed at home rather quickly. You see, Aliens don’t care for Humans who cause a ruckus, because they are afraid you will wake up the other Humans around you who are still sleeping. There are also Aliens who truly do want to help, but they are not the ones experimenting on you or your livestock. During the years after Jesus returns, some Aliens will also return to be reunited with their long lost family of Humans and Faeries.
